Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to Gateway SGNA web site. One of our goals is to utilize our web page to communicate our regional activities. We will update the information about upcoming events to keep our members better informed.

We would also like to welcome Pam Brossier, BSN,RN,CGRN  to the education committee.

            Education is one of our top priorities. The board has met to brainstorm programs to be presented in 2010. We have decided to offer 2 evening courses this year. Listening to our members, some feel that all day seminars on Saturday are difficult to attend. Our first evening course will be July 14, 2010. Our presentation will cover scope reprocessing. The second evening course will be November 10, 2010. At that time, as per request of several members, ERCP will be our subject covered. We will continue to present our all day Fall Seminar, September 25, 2010.

            Without the support of the Board and Educational committee, these events could not be offered. Shelley Riddle, BA, MBA, LPN, CGN is our Director of Education/Program. Besides the Board members, Maureen Hof, BSN, RN and Eileen Pieri, RN are also on the committee. This is a great way to become involved in this organization.

            As with any volunteer organization, we are always looking for new leaders. Please consider lending your time and talent. It’s not too early to consider running for an office in September. We will be electing a President-Elect and a secretary. Any questions concerning the duties of these offices, please ask. Everyone is welcome to attend Board meetings and suggest topics to be presented at educational seminars. Our next Board meeting will be May 20, 2010 at St.  Anthony’s Medical Center cafeteria 6 P.M.

            I am proud to be your President for 2010. I also want to take this opportunity to thank all the Board Members, Directors, and Committee members for their support and hard work.
